Washington, D.C. Event Highlights;
Event host, Kezia Williams, who leads the United Negro College Fund’s national entrepreneurship initiative, is currently the CEO and founder of The Black UpStart, awarded a top 40 under 40 award, and named a top ten leader in the state of Virginia by the Virginia Leadership Institute.
Honorary Event Chair, Sally Nuamah, is a TedXUIC speaker and first-generation college graduate who is also a Values and Public Policy Fellow at Princeton University as well as a Women and Public Policy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. She specializes in Race, Gender, Education Politics, and Political Behavior. Currently, she is working on two book projects, one on girls and educational achievement and another on the politics of public school closure. In the fall of 2018, she will begin a tenure track faculty position at Duke University. She will be sharing a few words of inspiration with us at our event!
Violinist, Shuyinthia Farley-Hembry
Poet, Eliamani Ismail, DC Youth Slam Team member, Eliamani represented DC at the Brave New Voices international competition. She is also the winner of the First annual Anacostia Museums Teen Slam Contest.
